Science Instructional Specialist Barbara Griffith

The Arkansas Center for Mathematics and Science Education was awarded a grant from the Arkansas Department of Education to employ an Elementary Science Specialist (K-6) to help the schools in the vicinity of UCA to prepare for the benchmark test in science, provide training for inquiry-based science; teacher mentoring, model teaching, curriculum development, alignment and techniques.

ACMSE has employed Barbara Griffith, as the Elementary Science Specialist. Barbara taught sixth grade science for 24 years, was a K-4 Crusade trainer, has done state and national presentation, has served as president of the state Arkansas Science Teachers Association and served on a number of committees and will serve this summer (2005) on the science framework committee.
